Newsletter January 2008Welcome to 2008, a year that hopefully will bring joy and success 2008 will be a year where we will be able to present several new ideas and plans for the MHCE, and we hope that this will help to make the club grow and become stronger. At first we want to thank the new sponsors on the sales list –This is a great way to promote your farms, and our sales page is even more interesting to visit, because now you are able to “go visit” some of the farms and see what other horses they have! To read the rest of the newsletter click here Driving seminar with Darin SouthwickWe have been so lucky to be able to arrange a driving clinic with USA trainer Darin Southwick. This will be in March in Denmark on the 29-30 / 3. – Please see attached invitation for more information. This will also be available on the MHCE website. We are considering inviting him to come back in November to our annual meeting, so he will be able to follow up on the horses, and helping new ones getting started.

Cancellation! It is with deepest regrets that we have to announce that the first miniature horse auction in Europe arranged by MHCE, has to be cancelled. The reason is that we have an agreement with all European clubs that our activities should not be placed on the same date. Unfortunately we have chosen the same date for our auction as the ICAMH is having a show.
Because of a lot of activities this upcomming year, we cannot find another suitable date to have the auction.

We have all learned about coat colors and the board have got some new ideas
for the future of the club and I think we had a great day.
Maurits have been so kind to send his powerpoint presentation about colors to us, and it can now be found here on the website as a pdf file. It is split in two to make it less heavy to downloade. So give your self the time to read about the colors, it is just so fascinating. Coat

From Linda we have some interesting links to websites about colors http://www.equinecolor.com/color.html
For testing the color genes here are some labs. http://www.petdnaservicesaz.com/Equine.html
I also want to welcome our new Treasure
Amateur Classes The future of the club and the miniature horse industry all together has already started yesterday. We have to realize that this industry is growing fast in Europe. There are a lot of people who are or become interested in Miniature Horses and plan on breeding, showing and having fun with this terrific breed. More and more miniature horses are being imported from overseas or born in Europe. More and more will find their way to new owners MHCE High Point SystemThe MHCE would like to introduce an European High Point System (HPS) in 2006.The MHCE organizes several shows each season (4 in 2006!). Every show has a lot of horses that do very well in the show ring and several of them become (grand) champions. The aim with the HPS is to have High Point Winners at the end of the show season, a title that really is going to mean a lot in the Miniature Horse Industry and will be recognized and wanted! This title will be eligible for all miniature horses. The only thing you have to do is let your horse participate in this High Point System and give your horse a chance to become the High Point Horse in his/her own class and receive a very honor full Award at the yearly MHCE Banquet! |
